Newton Community Association Report to Blackwell Parish Council

Grot2Green

The pond on the 5 pits trail is now full again and the area has been cleared. The seat and bin are in process of being made

The footpath from Littlemore Lane (Cobblers Way) to Charnwood Crescent was supposed to be cleared today (Dec 4th). Hopefully it will now be kept clear by the appropriate authority. The site is not claimed by anyone.

The association is still waiting for permission from the Highway Authority to create a planter at the top of Littlemore Lane.

Bambi was seen by about 50 children aged 7/8 from Newton Primary School on 30th November and by about 60 more Newton residents in the evening.

Lottery Bid

The association in conjunction with Newton Carnival Committee and The Allotment Society has put in a village bid for finances to buy equipment to help with its endeavours.

Future projects

In 2007 NCA hope to have more hanging and ground based planters.

It will continue to maintain the present planters and to do litter picks. NCA would like to see more litter and dog bins in the village.

Litter Pick Sunday 14th January ,10-12 o’clock , Newton Community Centre.

The footpaths from Town lane and Nan’s Nick need some clearing work done and so does the one to 5 Pits Trail  which is ruined by horse riders. It isn’t a  designated bridle path. Approaches have been made to Bolsover Countryside Partnership about this.

Cinema will continue

Thursday 25th January NCA is showing Ladies in Lavender

Thursday 22nd February. Film to be decided.

Thursday 29th March. Film to be decided
